Terms of Service

The terms for your Scribble subscription, free trial, and Handwriting Mastery Guarantee.

About Scribble

Scribble is provided by Saegis LLC. These terms cover our website, iPad app and Family purchases. A separate written agreement may govern school use. Joining our email list does not enroll a student or reserve access.

Accounts and authorized adults

An adult with authority to enroll the participating children must create the account and accept the offer. Parents, guardians and schools are responsible for authorizing children’s use and providing required permissions. These terms do not replace any separate parental notice or consent required by law.

Family owners and admins manage students, billing, settings and invitations. Report viewers see only the reports granted to them. Invite only adults you trust, use only authorized accounts, and do not share sign-in credentials or bypass access controls.

Subscription, free trial and renewal

  • Each child’s subscription costs $1,000 billed annually or $100 billed monthly. Prices are in USD, plus applicable tax. The annual monthly equivalent ($83.33) describes an annual payment, not monthly installments.
  • Subscription includes Cursive and future Scribble writing courses as they launch, while subscription is active. Print handwriting and spelling are in development. Upcoming courses are not available until released; inclusion does not promise a lifetime price lock.
  • Each eligible student receives one 14-day free trial after verified payment setup. You authorize the selected charge after the trial and recurring charges at the selected monthly or annual frequency until canceled. A returning student who has used their trial requires payment at Checkout; signup discloses this before you continue.
  • Every subscription belongs permanently to one named student. Add children through separate Checkouts; each eligible child receives their own trial deadline. Installing the app or delaying lessons does not restart any trial or billing period.
  • Open Settings → Billing & access and choose Manage trial or Manage subscription, then confirm cancellation in Stripe before the trial ends to pay nothing. After payment, stop renewal in Stripe at any time; access continues through the paid period. A cancellation accepted before a billing boundary remains binding if provider processing overlaps it, and affected charges and tax will be credited or refunded.
  • After cancellation takes effect, you may subscribe the same child again at the then-current monthly or annual price, without another trial. Contact support for exceptional billing changes; changes to accepted terms require your consent.
  • Open each child’s subscription from Billing & access and confirm changes in Stripe. Cancellation stops renewal and preserves access through the displayed deadline. Update the shared Family payment method and view invoices through the secure Stripe portal linked from Billing & access.
  • A failed trial-end or renewal payment does not extend learning access. Update your payment method through Billing & access to resolve a payment failure. A returning subscription without a trial starts only after confirmed payment; profiles and learning history remain saved.
  • Ending use does not ordinarily create a prorated refund. The Handwriting Mastery Guarantee below, statutory rights, payment corrections and separately agreed support exceptions remain available. Contact support@scribble.app for help.
  • One introductory trial is available per student. Returning or renaming that student does not create another trial. Previously accepted prices, nonrenewing purchases and guarantees remain honored; these terms do not silently change them.

Family and professional use

Family subscriptions are for personal, noncommercial learning by named children in one family under the care of the subscribing parent or guardian, including shared-custody, foster-care and guardianship arrangements. They cannot be pooled across unrelated families or used as a school, clinic or tutoring license. A professional may help a child use that child’s family-owned subscription.

Schools, OTs, and tutors: contact us to discuss your needs.

Student profiles, learning access and deletion

Add a child through Checkout on the website. Name the child, review the subscription and save a payment method before their profile and eligible trial are created. Cards, Link and supported wallets are available through Stripe. Finish profile details in the dashboard or iPad app. Each child has their own profile and learning history; profile edits keep that child’s identity and history. Create a separate profile for a different child.

Profiles remain visible in Children after learning access ends, with reports and learning history available to authorized adults. Active and Inactive describe current learning access; completing profile details is a separate step. Manage future charges in Stripe through Billing & access. Contact support@scribble.app to request deletion of a child’s data; deletion is separate from subscription cancellation. Family owners can separately schedule deletion of the whole Family in Settings → Family & account, with a 30-day cancellation period.

Equipment and parent commitments

A supported iPad, compatible Apple Pencil, paper-texture screen protector, US App Store access and an internet connection are required. Purchase equipment separately; it is not included. We recommend Astropad Rock Paper Pencil or an equivalent protector. Check the equipment guide before starting.

Make time for regular practice, support your child without doing the work, and take breaks when needed. Children learn at different paces. The money-back guarantee has the participation and completion requirements below.

Handwriting Mastery Guarantee

Master handwriting in a year—or your money back. Complete the core curriculum within six months, then complete six months of consistent fluency practice. If your child still cannot form every lowercase and uppercase letter legibly and automatically from memory after the qualifying year, we will refund the subscription payments covering that year.

  • This money-back guarantee applies to subscriptions that accepted this offer, whether billed yearly or monthly. It covers one script: Cursive, or Print once that course and its fluency practice are available. The qualifying year begins when the student joins a paid subscription, excluding the free trial. A child who joins during the trial begins their qualifying year when paid access starts.
  • Complete the core curriculum for that script within the first six calendar months, then participate in fluency practice for at least six calendar months by the end of the qualifying year. Children who complete the core earlier may begin fluency practice immediately.
  • Consistent participation means completing assigned practice on at least four different days per week in at least 20 weeks of each six-month phase. Weeks are consecutive seven-day periods measured from the start of each phase in the Family’s timezone. The first phase may include fluency practice after early core completion; the second phase must be fluency practice. Complete assessments when assigned. Ordinary breaks are allowed within these requirements; no perfect streak is required. Repeating many sessions on one day still counts as one practice day.
  • Mastery means forming the entire lowercase and uppercase alphabet legibly and automatically from memory, without a visible model. The guarantee does not require words, sentences or a particular handwriting speed. We review the student’s recorded learning history and an alphabet assessment at or after the end of the qualifying year. A parent must not perform the work for the student.
  • Request review at support@scribble.app within 60 calendar days after the qualifying year ends. The request date determines whether the claim is timely; taking longer to complete our review does not invalidate a timely claim. A full year of paid coverage and the participation requirements above are necessary.
  • An approved claim refunds the subscription charges and applicable tax attributable to the qualifying year, after discounts and any previous refunds. For invoices spanning the qualifying year’s boundaries, we allocate the paid amount in proportion to the covered time. Equipment and separately purchased services are excluded. Monthly payments qualify on the same basis as yearly payments.
  • Each guarantee applies to the named student’s own subscription payments. Only one guarantee refund is available per student subscription, regardless of scripts. Refunds exclude previous credits and refunds; settled coverage with no net payment may satisfy coverage requirements but cannot produce a cash refund. Charges cannot be refunded twice.
  • Approval stops future renewal. Any current paid access remains available through its stated end date; the refund does not delete student profiles or learning history. Refunds return to the original payment method, subject to the payment provider’s processing time.
  • Previously accepted guarantees remain honored. Earlier access-extension guarantees continue under their accepted eligibility and duration; the new completion requirements do not replace those agreements.

Graduation reward packages

One graduation reward package is available per child after Cursive graduation with parent opt-in and a US shipping address, which can be added after graduation or the subscription ends; contents and delivery timing may vary.

Contact us for address changes or shipment help. Previously accepted offers and any separately agreed adjustments remain honored.

Learning, content and acceptable use

Scribble is an educational service, not a medical diagnosis or treatment. A graduation certificate recognizes curriculum completion, not an accredited qualification. We may update or maintain the service; contact us if an interruption materially affects access.

You retain rights in content you submit and permit Scribble to store, process and display it to provide learning, feedback, authorized reports and support, subject to our Privacy Policy. Our curriculum, software and branding remain ours or our licensors’; access permits personal educational use, not resale or redistribution.

Do not submit unlawful or harmful content, interfere with the service or misuse others’ information. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary for safety, security, fraud investigation or legal compliance. A good-faith cancellation, learning difficulty or payment dispute is not itself misuse.

Privacy, changes and contact

Our Privacy Policy describes data use, retention and parental rights. Material changes to existing purchases require appropriate notice and any consent required by law. Posting updated terms does not rewrite your accepted purchase.
