The federal income limit is 300% of area median gross income — three times the median for your area — based on household income for the calendar year before you apply. Your child must also be eligible to enroll in a public elementary or secondary school. Scholarships depend on state participation, available funding and approval by the scholarship granting organization, which verifies income and family size. There’s no single nationwide dollar cutoff.Read the federal eligibility rules →

Our Scribble scholarship offer covers 100% of Scribble software costs during the awarded period. Some families may also receive coverage for 100% of the cost of a compatible iPad and Apple Pencil. Equipment coverage depends on the scholarship organization’s approval, available funding and your award terms. We’ll share which equipment and costs are included before you buy.Read the eligible education expenses →

The Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC), also called the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC), encourages donations that fund K–12 scholarships starting in January 2027. ECCA is the earlier Educational Choice for Children Act proposal, whose name is still used for these scholarships. An SGO is the scholarship granting organization that checks eligibility and awards the money. Families apply through the SGO; Scribble’s scholarship offer starts in March 2027.
