Accounts
One Active Session
How student learning sessions and account sign-ins work across iPads.
An account sign-in and a student’s learning session are different. Family adults and report viewers can stay signed in on multiple devices, but each student can have only one active learning session.
Continue Here
If you open a student who already has a learning session elsewhere, the iPad asks whether to Continue Here.
- Choose Continue Here to close that student’s previous learning session and continue on this iPad.
- Taking over learning does not sign the adult out of their other account sessions.
- Two iPads cannot save learning work for the same student at the same time.
Finish and save the current work before switching iPads. Scribble requires an internet connection to learn and save; work that has not been confirmed saved is not guaranteed to follow you.
Linked Alpha student accounts
Linked Alpha student accounts allow only one account sign-in at a time. Signing into the same account on a new iPad ends that account’s other sessions.
The app checks sign-in status on launch, when it returns to the foreground, and during server requests. When it detects an ended sign-in, it returns to the sign-in screen.
Signing into a different student’s account does not revoke the previous student’s account sessions elsewhere.
Shared iPads
- Family: select the correct child profile before learning. Children do not need separate email accounts.
- Alpha: sign the current student out before the next student signs in with their own account.
Check the student before writing
On a shared classroom iPad, confirm whose account is open before handing it over. Do not rely on the next student’s sign-in to end another account’s sessions.
Lost iPad
Signing into a Family account elsewhere does not sign out a lost iPad. Contact support@scribble.app for help revoking account access.
