Troubleshooting
OTP Didn't Arrive
What to do when the one-time sign-in code never shows up in your inbox.
If you requested an email sign-in code and it has not arrived, check the following. Linked Alpha students use Sign in with Timeback, not Scribble email codes.
1. Check spam and promotions
Look for a Scribble email from noreply@notify.scribble.app, including in Spam, Junk, or Promotions. If you find it in spam, mark it as Not spam.
2. Confirm the email address
Check the address shown on the code-entry screen. If it is wrong, select Use a different email, correct it, and submit the email form again. On iPad and the website's sign-in page, the email-entry button is Continue; the enrollment form uses Send code.
Watch for transposed letters or an incorrect domain. Use the address associated with your Scribble account or invitation.
3. Request another code if needed
On the website, select Resend code below Verify. It becomes available 30 seconds after a code is sent and sends to the address already shown. To correct that address, select Use a different email.
On iPad, select Use a different email, enter the intended address again, and submit the form. Follow any rate-limit message rather than repeatedly submitting.
Codes expire after 10 minutes. Use the code from your latest request. Enter the six-digit code and select Verify; the iPad may verify automatically when all six digits are entered.
4. Check mailbox delivery
A full mailbox or an email filter can prevent delivery. Check your mailbox storage and blocked-sender settings. For a managed mailbox, ask your email administrator to check filtering.
5. Contact support
If codes still do not arrive, email support@scribble.app from the affected address if possible. Include the approximate time of your request, whether you used the website or iPad app, and any error shown.
Do not send a sign-in code, password, or magic sign-in link. Support can investigate delivery without those credentials.
